The attendees will be taught the basics of snare drumming through more advanced techniques when ready as well as some music theory.  My background includes lessons with the lead percussionist from the Boston Pops, to playing in orchestra pits for musicals such as the King and I, Music Man and Showboat to being on the Syracuse University Marching Band snare drum line.  The following will be needed as well:·       Practice pad and drum sticks for beginners.  It can be purchased on Amazon for about a total of $20.·       Music Book: Alfred's Drum Method, Book 1.  It can be purchased on Amazon for 12.99. I recommend the paperback version as it can be written on during the lessons.Private Lessons*

Through the process of weekly instruction Young Rembrandts students are exposed to a wide variety of subject matter, artistic concepts, art history and mastery of their materials.Early Elementary Drawing (Ages 4-6) Young children gather, collect and process more stimuli in the preschool years than at any other time in their development. Young Rembrandts prepares their brains for more advanced learning. It is fun, encouraging, and will maximize development, to better prepare them as learners.Elementary Drawing (Ages 7-14) Young Rembrandts’ elementary drawing teaches children to break complex objects into foundational shapes. Chris Koch has been practicing and teaching Tai Chi and Qi Gong for over 10 years.  He holds ranking in Tae Kwon Do and Judo and a 3rd Degree Black Belt in Haidong Gumdo (Korean Sword Martial Art). Classes will include both the practice of Qi Gong (Chi energy development) and Tai Chi (Chi energy movement) with focus on developing/improving breathing, balance, flexibility and overall health. Our drawing classes offer child-friendly and relevant subject matter to spark interest and increase knowledge retention. As they learn how to deconstruct and reconstruct images, the experience, repetition, and variety of engaging and relevant subject matter bring them to increased levels of mastery in drawing - and in life.Cartoon Drawing (Ages 8 -14) Young Rembrandts cartooning classes follow our same quality, step-by-step method, with the added fun and excitement of cartooning. While cartooning is fun, playful, and engaging, children gain mastery in a unique drawing style and improve their core learning skills.

Have you ever wanted to star in a play you helped create? Join us this Spring, as students learn all about theatre by doing it themselves!  Creative Theatre is the perfect class for you! Children are guided, by the instructors, through a process where they play theatre games, create a story, and work together to make that story into a working theatrical production. The participants create their own character, plot, props, costumes, title, and everything else that's needed to make the production complete. You get to play the part you have always dreamed of!   The final day is a performance of their original play for parents, family, and anyone else who wishes to come.Performance on 11/17.

Chris Koch has been practicing and teaching Tai Chi and Qi Gong for over 10 years.  He holds ranking in Tae Kwon Do and Judo and a 3rd Degree Black Belt in Haidong Gumdo (Korean Sword Martial Art). Classes will include both the practice of Qi Gong (Chi energy development) and Tai Chi (Chi energy movement) with focus on developing/improving breathing, balance, flexibility and overall health. Other topics will include Chi Meridian stimulation, primary body organ stimulation, and acupressure for pain relief, Traditional Chinese Medicine principles and self-defense applications.
