The AARP Smart Driver course is the nation’s first refresher course specifically designed for drivers age 50 and older. In many states, drivers may benefit from a discount on their auto insurance premium upon completing the course. And you will learn something new along the way. In fact, an evaluation of the course found that 97% of participants changed at least one driving habit as a result of what they learned.
This is 8 hour (in two 4 hour sessions) for drivers who had not previously completed the initial course or a refresher course in the last 3 years. Participants must register for and complete both sessions (the fee includes both sessions). The fee is payable at the beginning of the class. The fee is $20 for AARP members (membership card is necessary) and $25 for non-members and is accepted in check form (AARP) or cash. Certificates of completion will be issued at the end of the second class. A valid Pennsylvania driver's license is needed at the time of registration.

AARP Safe Driver Refresher Course
This is a 4-hour refresher course for drivers who had previously completed the initial course or a refresher course in the last 3 years. The fee is payable at the beginning of the class. The fee is $20 for AARP members (membership card is necessary) and $25 for non-members and is accepted in check form (AARP) or cash. Certificates of completion will be issued at the end of the class. A valid Pennsylvania driver's license is needed at the time of registration.
